BMW Recalls 2007-2008 K1200 Motorcycles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that BMW is recalling 2007-2008 K1200R, K1200R Sport and K1200S motorcycles because under “certain riding conditions, the brake fluid in the front brake fluid reservoir can foam.” Foamy brake fluid could lead to reduce braking capacity possibly resulting in a crash. BMW will be retrofitting the front brake reservoir in affected models with a screen free of charge.

According to BMW, this recall potentially affects 1365 K1200S, 498 K1200R Sport and 199 K1200R models in the United States. These models were manufactured between September 2006 and August 2008 (except the K1200R Sport which started being manufactured in November 2006).
