The major European markets of France and Italy ranked third and fourth with sales of 6,129 and 6,094 respectively.
Heiner Faust, BMW Motorrad Head of Sales and Marketing says, “Never before has BMW Motorrad sold as many vehicles as this in the first six months of a year. We are very pleased with the sales result for the first half of 2013. It proves how popular our products are among our customers — in particular the new R1200GS. We recorded healthy growth worldwide in all the relevant markets in June. It is the best June result ever. Even the crisis-ridden markets of Europe proved to be stable for BMW Motorrad. We were able to make considerable gains in France, Italy and even Spain as compared to June 2012. The strongest growth is to be seen in North and South America and in Asia. With this outstanding six-month result we are now well on the way to achieving a new all-time sales high for 2013.”
