Never before have we sold more motorcycles in the first month of the year than in January 2015. Our current model range is meeting a strong demand worldwide. Numerous innovative and emotional vehicles will be supplementing our product portfolio this coming season.”
BMW Motorrad USA started the New Year with a healthy sales growth, reporting an increase of 11.8% in January with 661 motorcycles sold compared to the 591 sold in January 2014. The R1200GS Adventure was the best performing model in the month with 126 deliveries and, boosted by the launch of the new-for-2015 R1200R, helped drive growth of 61% in R-Series sales with 391 total boxers sold compared to 243 a year ago. Meanwhile, there are two new boxer models lined up for this season, the new BMW R1200R and the R1200RS, as well as an update to BMW Motorrad’s mid-range F800R. Finally, there’s the S1000XR: the fourth model in the four-cylinder sports-oriented S-series. It combines the qualities of the BMW’s GS, S and RT (off-road, sport and touring) models to create a whole new category of motorcycle for BMW, the Adventure Sport.
