BMW Motorrad USA To Offer Demo Rides at MotoGP in Texas

bmw-motorrad-usa-displayFor the first time, BMW Motorrad USA will roll out its demo truck and separate display at the upcoming MotoGP races, April 8-10, at Circuit of The Americas outside of downtown Austin, Texas. Attendees can sign up for demo rides at the demo truck. The BMW Motorrad USA demo area display will showcase 2016 BMW motorcycle models and apparel. BMW Motorrad Motorsports advisor and factory test rider Nate Kern will also be on hand to share his expertise on the BMW S1000RR superbike. For those wondering what it’s like to ride the RR on a racetrack, BMW will offer visitors a chance to try a simulation with the EyeRide on-bike virtual reality system. For up-close RR racing action, visitors can head to the track Paddock, where Nate – a former CCS national champion – will spend some time advising hopefuls, like California-native Steve Rapp, who will compete in the season opener of the MotoAmerica series on an S1000RR.

The BMW Motorrad USA display will also feature the 1975 BMW R75/6 being raffled as part of a fundraiser to support the AMA Hall of Fame, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The 1975 BMW R75/6 has been customized by renowned bike builder Tony Prust from Analog Motorcycles in Chicago, Ill. Raffles tickets can be purchased from the AMA website and are $5 each or $20 for five tickets. Participants must be 18 years or older and a resident of the United States to win. The drawing will be held at “Mama Tried Motorcycle Show” in February 2017. See official raffle rules here.

MotoGP, considered to be the fastest, fiercest motorcycle racing in the world. It features completely custom speed machines built purely for the GP series. Unlike motorcycles in other racing series, a MotoGP bike is built from scratch and does not share a single part with those in the retail showroom. Rivalries among MotoGP pilots run deep and battles on the track are intense. For more information about MotoGP racing April 8-10 see http://www.circuitoftheamericas.com/2016-motogp.

MotoGP racing takes place the same weekend as The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show which is sponsored by BMW Motorrad USA and also takes place in Austin, Texas. For a complete schedule of events and show information, visit https://revivalcycles.com/pages/about-the-handbuilt-motorcycle-show.
