For those interested in other forms of two-wheeled transportation, BMW announced two new bicycles in 2017. The BMW M Bike Limited Carbon Edition attempts to evoke its much bigger BMW M5 brother with the same exclusive Marina Bay Blue Metallic paint finish. The hydro-formed aluminum frame is combined with a carbon fiber fork, seat post and spacers for agile handling. The new BMW Active Hybrid e-bike, meanwhile, supplements pedal power with a Brose electric motor. A removable 504 Wh battery produces 250 W and 66 ft-lb (90 Nm) of torque for a range of 62 miles (100 km). Four pedal assistance modes range from Eco (+50%) to Turbo (+275%) up to 16 mph (25 km/h). A micro USB socket and Bluetooth allow riders to hook their smartphone to the bike.
Appeared in the Winter 2017, BMW Motorcycle Magazine.
