An Invitation from Spain

An Invitation from Spain

For the past few years, in Andalucia in southern Spain, BMW riders have been treated to a fantastic celebration of BMW biking on a massive scale. Known locally as Encuentro BMWRIDERS—or EBMWR—this customer-focused activity was originally developed to showcase the world of BMW to both existing and potential owners, but has since grown to become the main event on the Spanish BMW rider’s calendar.

For 2010, a new location has been announced for this Spanish version of BMW Motorrad Days and the plan is to invite fans of the BMW brand from all over the world to participate in the many events and activities on offer. “EBMWR10” (Encuentro BMWRIDERS 2010) is taking place over the weekend of September 10-12 in Formigal, which is one of the most popular Ski resorts in Spain. Formigal ( is located very close to the French border, making it easy for riders to journey to from all over Europe.

A comprehensive program of indoor and outdoor customer activities is planned for this weekend including guided tours, test-rides of all the latest BMW Motorrad models, off-road experiences, stunt shows from Narcis Roca on the F800R, various talks and presentations from inspirational motorcycle riders, and much more. There will also be many motorcycle-related companies exhibiting on site, as well as BMW owners clubs, a BMW ‘village’ containing all the latest machines, Rider Equipment and accessories, and a service center.

For BMW Motorrad Espana’s Motorcycle Event Manager Juan Hernandez, the objective is clear—make the EBMWR10 event the biggest and most successful yet. He says, “We’re very excited about going to a new location in north-eastern Spain that will be easily accessible to riders from other countries. In the past years, about 3,000 riders have visited the EBMWR events, but our plan for 2010 is to have at least 4,000 BMW fans in Formigal. As well as all the activities mentioned above, we are also offering karting, a kids’ zone, an S1000RR zone, Trek bikes tests, big evening parties and much more. It is our intention to establish EBMWR as the best rider meeting in Spain.”

More information about EBMWR10 and registration for the event can be found online at, which is also available in English and French language options for international visitors.
