Anna Featured in BMW Motorrad Days Fashion Shoot

Updated (see below). Thanks to the ‘Motorcycles-Girls-Fashion’ Facebook site, model and marketing management student Anna has been chosen to be featured in two BMW Motorrad Days-themed photo-shoots. The 24-year-old German is not interested in cars and chooses to have only a motorcycle license. She always makes the time to ride despite a heavy study load that includes courses in marketing, Spanish, English, business administration and accounting. Her passion and good looks came to the attention of the creators of the Facebook site that is dedicated to great motorcycles, beautiful women and designer clothing.

Anna first participated in a test shoot with her favorite motorcycle – the BMW S1000RR – and was then chosen to be ‘the face’ of the upcoming 2011 BMW Motorrad Days merchandising campaign. However, this won’t be a straightforward fashion PR shoot because there is no studio involved and all the pictures will be taken outdoors. To boost motorcycle tourism in the area, Anna will be riding from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen – the location of next month’s BMW Motorrad Days festival – and taking the most scenic route on two wheels.

Wearing her Dainese leather suit for these test pictures, the motorsports fan used to enjoy competing in sports before discovering motorcycling. She was impressed with her first test ride of the 193hp superbike. “It was an incredible experience and I am full of respect for this machine,” she said. “Because of its lightness the power-to-weight ratio is phenomenal, but it doesn’t take long before you feel confident on the Double R.”

Along the way, the 5’11” (1.80m) beauty, who has been riding a variety of sports bikes since 2007 (including a Ducati 916 SPS and a Suzuki GSX-R750) will be joined by male model Alex, also on an S1000RR as well – for the journey to the scenic alpine resort where over 30,000 motorcyclists will meet on the first weekend in July for three days of partying, BMW Motorrad-style.

According to fashion photographer Markus Hofmann (who will be directing the film shoot) it is a desire to share his love of the fantastic German countryside that is the driving force behind this latest assignment. “There are thousands of motorcyclists who arrive in the Munich area and then just join the autobahn for a fast blast down towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen, but it is a rather boring way to arrive at BMW Motorrad Days,” he said. “All of the surrounding roads are just fantastic for biking and if you have the time, you’d be crazy not to explore them. Our idea behind this shoot is to show BMW fans where to go and what to explore en route to Garmisch. Along the way, we’re also going to be taking pictures of the 2011 BMW Motorrad Days official merchandise that visitors can buy as souvenirs.”

Update 6/10/11: BMW has released photos of the official BMW Motorrad Days T-shirt and Cap modeled by Anna and Alex (see gallery below). The blue and grey T-shirt has a BMW Motorrad Days 2011 logo on the front, Garmisch-Partenkirchen logo on one sleeve and text on the other. Available in sizes XS-3XL for €23 while the one-size-fits-all cap is €10. Both will be available at the rally while supplies last.
