BMW Motorcycle Magazine, Winter 2014 Available Now

BMWMM25_1-covershadowedThis has been a busy time for BMW Motorrad with three new 2015 models being introduced at the International motorcycle show in Germany but the latest issue of BMW Motorcycle Magazine covers all the details. A new naked roadster, the R1200R, has been launched powered by the same cutting-edge, water-cooled engine as the R1200GS and taking on a host of new tech from other recent models. The well-loved RS badge has also returned with the 2015 R1200RS featuring the same engineering upgrades as well as weather protection and enhanced touring comfort. Plus, the class-leading S1000RR superbike has been reworked for more power, less weight and improved electronics.

The BMW Motorcycle Magazine’s winter issue also features a R nineT Special Section. Demonstrating the customization potential of this model is a collection of four bikes from Japan’s finest builders, a whimsical aviation-themed nineT from Switzerland, a slick café racer from Germany and the debut of special parts for this model developed by Roland Sands Designs in California.

“Gear Up,” the annual guide for new products, presents dozens of the best ideas for 2015. You’ll find innovative new ways to store your tools, keep your seat and luggage dry; protect your bike and your skin; power your gizmos and stay connected while on the road, all while looking stylish at the same time. Find something for you and a holiday gift for your riding buddy, too!

BMWMM25-spread6The Garage section in this issue breaks down the mechanics of the modern boxer’s head, demonstrating how damage can be fixed and what to look for to avoid this “head-ache.” The Skills section explains group riding: from the tactics and rules to formulating a plan. The Destinations section features remote and desolate Siberia for an adventure of epic proportions, while events such as the Classic Boxer Sprint satisfy the competitive itch.
