EICMA 2011: Updated BMW F800R

The fast and agile BMW F800R, which has been on the market since 2009, is getting a visual makeover for 2012. Introduced at the 2011 EICMA show, the 2012 F800R has new front side trim which also serves as radiator covers. These and the mud guards are now finished in the body color with the rear shock getting a red spring. The Sport windshield (finished in body color) and the white direction indicators are now standard equipment.

The engine is still the 798cc, liquid-cooled parallel twin with 4-valve technology known for its pulling power, quick response and low fuel consumption. The engine output is 87 bhp (64 kW) at 8000 rpm, producing 63.4 ft-lbs (86 Nm) of torque at 6000 rpm.

The new BMW F800R is available in three color combinations: Alpine white/Black satin gloss, Magma red/White aluminium metallic matt, and Mineral silver metallic. It’s expected to launch starting in Europe in December 2011.
