First Quarter Sees Best BMW Motorcycle Sales in History

For the first three months of this year, BMW Motorrad sold 23,109 motorcycles — an increase of 10.9% compared to the previous year — which is its best quarterly result in its history. Husqvarna Motorcycles likewise had a good quarterly showing delivering 1,940 motorcycles to customers in its first quarter — an increase of 18.3%. March 2011 sales, however, did not continue the increases of the first two months. While BMW Motorrad USA has not released their sales numbers, BMW Motorrad Canada says their motorcycle sales were down 27.5% for the first quarter (235 units sold) but expect sales to rebound with the arrival of 2011 models including the K1600.
